Downloading Videos and Transcripts from Microsoft Stream
- Open myapps.uhv.edu from your UHV account.
- In the Apps section at the bottom, scroll until you find the Stream button. It's two pink arrows.
- Once there, you will see videos that you have access to.
- By default, the most recent will be at the top. If they were created in a Teams meeting, the name of the video will also be the name of the meeting.
- Click on the video you are wanting.
- Make sure that it is not expired. Videos made from Teams have about 2 years before they expire on Microsoft apps.
- In the tab that pops up, you will have options to download the video as it is without the transcript or generate a transcript.
If you are downloading the video:
- In the bar just above the video is a download button for the video itself.
- This will automatically download the video to your Downloads folder in File Explorer.
If you are downloading the transcripts:
- On the right side, there are buttons from Trim to Analytics.
- Click "Video Settings." It should be the second to bottom of those buttons.
- The third option in the panel that opens should be "Transcript and captions." Click that to open it.
- Click "Generate".
- In the window that pops up, make sure it's in the language you want and click "Generate" again.
- This can take some time depending on how long the video is.
- Once the transcript is done generating, a new button on the right side will appear called "Transcript". Click it.
- In the panel that opens, click the "Download" drop-down button.
- Click the format you want and it will start downloading to your Downloads folder in File Explorer.
